Title: Interactive Word Walls: Incorporating Process Skills and Rubrics

Description: Interactive word walls are effective in classrooms with diverse learners and ELL’s. They visually display connections between vocabulary and content. In this session, participants will learn a step-by-step process for generating word walls, explore several real world examples of word walls, and walk away with a rubric to evaluate word walls in their science classrooms.


*Math & ELAR will be held on the same date. Information and registration will be emailed this week.

First, I would like to thank M.B. Henderson Elementary in the Kimball Feeder Pattern for hosting our last D1 5th Grade Science PLC! We engaged in Earth & Space Science, investigated lab stations, and linked process skills to essential questions.


Our next PLC will be hosted by David G. Burnet Elementary in the TJ Feeder Pattern!

Description: In this session, we will take a detailed look at the characteristics of a comparative investigation, plan and conduct a comparative investigation, create an anchor chart for comparative investigation lab reports, and a rubric for assessing comparative investigation lab reports. As an added bonus, we will discuss levels of inquiry as they relate to planning and conducting comparative investigations!
