News Companies Stretching the Truth?

Local newspapers are lying about the events in Cuba! This is a common act of Yellow Journalism. Telling lies to get more sales and views. The Cuban rebels revolted two times and the survivors of the revolt were placed in concentration camps. This is not the way that people should be informed about huge events. They should be told the truth. I will try to keep the events true to the best of my ability.

Concentration Camp- a place where large numbers of people, especially political prisoners or members of persecuted minorities, are deliberately imprisoned in a relatively small area with inadequate facilities, sometimes to provide forced labor or to await mass execution.

Fueling Anger Toward Spain

It was a note written by Señor Don Enrique Dupuy de Lôme, the Spanish Ambassador to the United States, to Don José Canelejas, the Foreign Minister of Spain, reveals de Lôme's opinion about the Spanish involvement in Cuba and US President McKinley's diplomacy. Another event that made Spain angry was the explosion of the USS Maine. Telegram sent by Captain James Forsythe, commanding, Naval Station Key West, forwarding word from Charles Sigsbee, Captain, USS Maine of the sinking of his ship. In January 1898, Maine was sent from Key West, Florida, to Havana, Cuba, to protect U.S. interests during the Cuban War of Independence.

US joins Cuba in its affair with Spain

Cubans tried to revolt against Spain but was denied 2 times. The second time, the Spanish took a hold of the Cubans and put them into concentration camps. We are going to ally with the Cubans and work together to defeat Spain. We will have their back in any conflicts. For a personal opinion, I love this. We gain an ally to help us in conflicts and also, it makes Spain less of a threat. On the other hand, it could make Spain and it's allies may become enemies if we lose. I think we can still win if we band together.
