Walden School Extended Learning
Welcome Site Coordinator Tanna Elliott
Afternoon Programming to Start Soon
We are very excited to introduce area resident Tanna Elliott as the Site Coordinator for the 21st Century Extended Learning Program. Tanna recently graduated from the University of Vermont, where she followed her interest in the sciences, majoring in Forestry and Wildlife Biology. As part of her studies, and later after graduation, Tanna helped to organize environmental education programs. Last summer she worked for the Vermont Institute of Natural Sciences as a summer camp counselor.
“I am very excited to be working with parents, teachers and staff to create fun and exciting afternoon programs for the students at Walden.” Tanna adds, “Parents, and others interested in getting involved in the program should email me or visit our program’s Facebook page.” (Facebook: Walden School Extended Learning Opportunities, or telliott@waldenschoolvt.org)
The Walden program is tentatively scheduled to begin in December; however a firm start date has not been set. “I am working to put together a schedule of activities that students in grade K – 8 can choose from. Parents can help by filling out and returning the enrollment form to give me a better idea of how many students are interested.”
The Walden program is part of the Caledonia Central Supervisory Union’s 21st Century Extended Learning Program that provides school year and summer programming for students in grades K – 8 at Barnet, Danville, Peacham, and Walden Schools. Visit www.ccsu21c.org for more information.
