Sydney's awesome poems
by sydney ruthesell
Sydney ruthesell was born in Fort Worth grew up in Haslet, Texas. Sydney loves to play volleyball and art and loves to spend time with family. She began to write poetry in middle school and writes about love and food.
My favorite poem was my structure poem. I took my previous past emotions and took it out on this poem and compared it to a flower. I wanted the reader to feel how it feels to be the second choice and to be abandoned for someone "better" than you. I designed my poem to look like a flower because I was comparing love to a flower. How everyone is picked over another like a flower, when someone sees two pretty flowers they go for the prettier flower. They don't take the time to look at the uniqueness and the unique structure the other flower has and picks the prettiest bloomed flower. While writing this poem it made me feel that I could pour out my emotions and express what I couldn't speak out. What inspires me to be a poet is writing out my emotions and creating writing that is so unique.
