Book: Lawn Boy
Genre: fiction
The topic of Lawn Boy was that this boy got a lawnmower for his birthday and started mowing lawns. He then turned it into a business thanks to his neighbor who started him in the stock market. If I were to rate the book from 1 to 5 I would probably rate it at a 5 because I could relate to it. I mow lawns and get paid. I liked the whole thing.
Author: Gary Paulsen
Genre: fiction
The topic of Laen Boy Returns was that this kid has a business and he finds out he owns a boxer. Then this guy names Zed says he is his cousin and lives at his house. Then these bad guys come into town and try to mess with lawn boy. I would rate this book at a 4 out of 5 because it didn't talk about mowing or anything I could relate to like the first one.
Author: Gary Paulsen
Genre: fiction
The topic is that this kid really likes this girl but can't ask her out. I would rate this book a 2 out of 5 because I didn't really like it.

Genre: fiction
The topic is that these people have lived underground all of there life and now have to figure out how to live with outher people and how to live in a new world. I would rate this book at a 4.5 out of five I really liked it but there was something missing for me.
Reading reflection
I learned that I should read more. I started this year hating to read books. I would never read. Then Mrs. Newhouse told me to read more. I started to read. I didn't like is at first then I found a book that I got into a lot. I then am finishing this year likening it more.
I learned that to help me read I should find some reader strategies. I picked visualization and inferring. I picked them because I did them all of the time, but I didn't realize it. I also learned how to make more interesting stories.
To sum all of this up I guess I learned that you should read every chance you can. I also learned that it is easy to make interesting stories. I wrote this to inform you about what I learned this year.
Write to Learn
Dear president of the Sioux Central school board,
You probably already know that most kids don't like reading. They do it in school and are encouraged to keep doing it. Most kids, these days would rather play video games in their spare time. I am going to tell you about what kids should do in their spare time.
When school is out, most kids don't even think about reading. I can admit to this I don't either, but this is what kids should do. They should play, swim, play sports, and enjoy their summer, because you are only a kid once. Kids like swimming and playing but when's the sun goes down. Most kids go inside, sit down on their couch or bed, get of their (phone, tablet, or other gaming devices) and just watch an led screen.
Kids now a day play their games. When they go inside after a long day of playing they eat supper and play games. Instead of watching a screen. Kids should pick up a book, and they should read. A lot of kids are like me and don't like reading. I know I don't, but that's not the point I am trying to make. The point is that even if you don't like to read. Read! Read every chance you can. If you like a certain topic that interests you and there isn't a book out there that you like. There is probably a magazine that is about that topic.
I don't like reading fiction. I like reading facts. I like reading something that is true. I hated reading. I hated it so much I rather pay money than read. I started reading magazines. I know they have a lot of pictures, but there is so much information in them. I picked up one last night and read about tractors. My point is that even if you don't like reading books, try reading something else like a magazine.
I am starting to like reading now that I am reading more. I wrote this to you because there is a lot of value in reading. I guess I just wanted to tell you to try to get kids more interested in reading.
