Montessori Prep
It has been a wonderful month in the Montessori Prep room. It has been full of learning many new skills for each child in our room. Every new day brings more fun! We are getting getting ready for some changes in our room with the coming new year. We will say goodbye to Joaquin and Caleb as they move into the new one year old room in pre primary with their new friends. We will be welcoming two new friends into the Montessori Prep room, Kieran (Egan's little brother) and Arjan ( Kiaan's little brother).
I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and enjoy the time off with family and friends.
Pre-Primary
Their favorite work challenge and also class favorite, was the nesting Santa and nesting Pinocchio story. They were so excited when they completed it independently!
The class worked together on a group project making ornaments. They also worked on taking turns hanging them on our school tree!
Next month we will be challenging the class more with pattern completion, number recognition and short story comprehension.
Please don't forget to take and send in your holiday pictures to put on our "All About Me" wall. The class really enjoys showing/sharing pictures with their peers!
Primary
Cold winds are blowing and we wish it was snowing.
December is ending and a new year beginning, but learning and fun continue on. This month we explored holidays and traditions around the world. We used iconic symbols, shapes, and festive manipulative in our language and math activities. We also compared real deer and reindeer by labelling their body parts, exploring their habitats and reading stories and using literacy.
We are excited to share some special art surprises for families and friends.
New classroom activities are still going strong. Our shelves will soon change to incorporate Arctic animals, snow activities and frosty experiments.
We hope your days are filled with family fun and memories. See you in January 2017.
