February is Heart month and Art I, Art II and Art III students have been learning about the heart and have created some beautiful posters about the heart that have been on display here at school. Our art students did an amazing job of catching the viewer’s eye and informing us about the heart. For instance, did you know that most heart attacks happen on Monday. A woman’s heart beat is faster than a man’s by almost 8 beats a minute. It might be a shocker for some of you, but the heart isn't really located on the left side of your chest. It lies between the right and left lungs, in the middle of the chest and slightly towards the left of the breastbone. Mrs. Fontana, Mrs. Gurley and Mrs. Holman would like to congratulate the following winning artist. They have won a blue 1st place ribbon and a Chick-Fil-La gift card. Great Job!!!
The top 3 winners are:
Art I-Ashlin Le
Art II- Khristan Tran
Art III-Adia Harrison

Note from the Nurse
Parents we need your help! Please be checking your students DAILY for symptoms. If they have symptoms, WITH or WITHOUT fever, they need to stay home and notify the attendance clerk. I will help you with your student getting attendance remotely. MOST students of the Jr High age group are NOT getting fever with COVID. The typical symptoms are headache, sore throat, cough(comes later), fatigue, stomach ache, and diarrhea. Only about 25% of our students with Covid have ever run any fever.
Please do help us reduce the spread!
If your student tests positive for Covid, OR has a known exposure please go to the WWJH web page, click on “Students and Families”, click on Covid Reporting form, and follow prompts. Someone will follow up with you about your report and give you further instructions. PLEASE, keep your student home. Both these situations require that your student stays home.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Masks
Lately we have been having issues in classrooms and in the hallways involving students wearing their mask below their nose, below their chin, or sometimes taking them off entirely during classes. This is a safety risk for your student and the people around them.
If a student is found to be consistently wearing a mask improperly there will be consequences administered. We have been speaking with students on a general and individual level since the beginning of the year, and the situation has not improved.
We will contact you if there are any issues with your student. Please stress to your child the importance of wearing a mask properly while at school to help us stay safe and stay open.
ID Bages
In addition, students need to wear their ID badges at all times around their neck so that it is visible. The ID badges need to stay on the original lanyard provided, and the badge itself needs to be free from stickers or replacement images. Students found to be out of compliance will be given a consequence.
If you have any additional questions about ID cards please visit the TISD Smart Tag Information page: https://www.tomballisd.net/apps/pages/smart-tag
Car Rider Drop-Off
The car rider line will run as usual up until 7:20 am, Officer Maglitto will not allow any more cars in the back parking lot. Those remaining cars will be directed to enter the front school driveway. Cars should not enter the front school driveway before 7:20, unless directed to do so by Officer Maglitto. Cars are to pull all the way up in the front drive and students will exit their car and enter the building through the front door. Students entering the school doors at 7:30 or after, will be counted as tardy.
Friday Car Rider Line: The car rider line increases by 60+ cars on this day. Therefore, it is important that you leave a little early to get your student to school on time. There may be times (Friday only) in which we may have to alter from the new routine and open up the front and back car rider lines. It is very important that you follow the direction of Officer Maglitto. A decision to deviate from the procedure will be made as needed. Today we were able to get the last student in the building by 7:33. Although we want all of our students in class on time, we were able to get our students in the building 7 minutes earlier than last Friday.Other Notable Information
