Principal Message
Wow!!! We have already finished one month of school!!! It has been a busy month full of students learning and wonderful activities. We are so blessed to be able to provide such a wonderful Christ-Centered, French Immersion program to our young people.
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, remember to give thanks to Jesus Christ. It is important to take time to reflect and pray for all that we have and give thanks for the faith we share.

A Reading From The Gospel for Sunday, September 29, 2019
There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. And at his gate lay a poor man name Lazarus, covered with sores, who longed to satisfy his hunger with what fell from the rich man's table.
The poor man died and was carried away by the angels to be with Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, he looked up and saw Abraham far away with Lazarus by his side.
He called out, "Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am in agony in these flames."
But Abraham said, "Child, remember that during your lifetime you received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner evil things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in agony.'

Orange Shirt Day - Every Child Matters!!!
On September 30th, many schools across Canada will be honouring Orange Shirt Day. We are encouraging the students, staff and families of École OLPH School wear an orange shirt on Monday, September 30th.
Orange Shirt Day is an opportunity to bring awareness to all aspects of residential schools; however, its focus is on acceptance and the understanding that each child matters and each child is important.
The Orange Shirt Campaign – Every Child Matters remembers the experiences of former students of Indian Residential Schools and is a commitment to ongoing reconciliation in Canada. Originating in British Columbia, this is the third year the campaign will be running in BC and other parts of Canada, and the first coordinated effort to celebrate the campaign in Alberta.
The campaign grew out of Phyllis’s account of having her shiny new orange shirt taken away on her first day of school at the St. Joseph Mission in Williams Lake, BC. The awareness campaign is an opportunity to continue the discussion on all aspects of residential schools each year.

End of Day Procedures
Please make sure that you child(ren) know if they are to take the bus or if they are getting picked up at the end of the day.
Should a student need to confirm their end of day plans, we ask that all students make their arrangements during the morning recess (10:19 a.m. - 10:34 a.m.) or during the lunch hour (12:04 p.m. - 12:47 p.m.).
This will reduce the confusion and rush at the end of the day and will also ensure that your child(ren) does not miss the bus.
If a student comes to the office at the end of the day and are unsure how they are getting home, we will be sending them home on the bus.
