Class of 2021 Survey RE: Graduation Ceremony
Graduation is a significant milestone in the lives of students, and given the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic has created for all of us this past year, the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2021 may be even more important for our seniors. The three comprehensive high schools in Vista Unified are currently planning for this year’s graduation ceremonies, and it is important for us to ensure the voice of our seniors and parents drive the decision-making process.
Recently, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) released this guidance for commencement ceremonies, which is contingent upon which tier our county is in at the time. The Vista Unified high schools are considering plans for two commencement ceremony structures: a drive-through or a modified in-person ceremony.
We ask that seniors and parents complete the appropriate survey by April 18th to indicate preferences for graduation this year.
Reminder About Dress Code
As we are experiencing warm weather, we are sending a reminder to students and families regarding the school’s dress code policy. The most common dress code violations we have noticed in this week have been exposed midriffs and strapless shirts. Students who have dress code violations will be required to change into clothing that adheres to our policy; we have limited quantities of loaner articles of clothing, and if students do not have a change of clothes, they may be required to remain in the front office until a parent/guardian can bring them proper attire.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the dress code policy, please contact the Front Office.
