Facilitate Student Learning With Flipgrid
So what is Flipgrid?
Flipgrid is a website that allows teachers to create ‘grids’ to facilitate video discussions. Each grid is like a message board where teachers can pose questions, called ‘topics,’ and their students can post video responses that appear in a tiled grid display.
How does Flipgrid work?
This is a FREE resource that requires teachers to have either a Microsoft OR Google Account in order to record videos. Your students WILL NOT need to create an account. They simply need to use the grid link you create and either their email or user ID. The beauty behind this? Students of all ages can utilize this resource!
What is Flipgrid's purpose?
This resource is a great way to give your students agency over their own research, learning, and conceptual development, all while keeping them in a digital space that is safe and purposeful. It is an impactful resource to reinforce class content while giving your students ownership over the products they produce in showing their understanding.
What do I need to use Flipgrid in my classroom?
If you're interested in using Flipgrid, you will need to be able to utilize the internet, a set of class devices with video recording capability, a strong set of directions to keep your students on target, and consideration for amount of time for student production to occur, and Flipgrid's Student Do's and Don'ts.
