How do I sign up for Parent-Teacher conferences?

You can register for parent teacher conferences at this link.

If you need assistance registering, stop in and see Mrs. Gravley or Mrs. Glade in the office so they can help you.

When will families get Progress Reports for their student(s)?

Progress reports will be sent home with students on Tuesday, November 15. This will give families an opportunity to talk with students about the report as well as to talk with teachers during conferences about the reports.

Who's got the feeling?

Our FIFTH grades now have a feeling they cannot stop. Check it out here.

How will I know if school is delayed, dismissed early or cancelled due to weather?

To check information about school being delayed, dismissed early or cancelled, you can:

Call: The District Information Line at 386-4777. HINT: If you save it to your phone your kids can check it and not bother you at 6 am.

Watch: WCCO (Ch 4), KSTP (Ch 5), FOX (Ch 9), KARE (Ch 11), KEYC (Ch 12)

Listen: KMSU (89.7 FM), KXLP (94.1 FM), KDOG (96.7 FM), KEEZ (99.1 FM), KXAC (100.5 FM), KRRW (101.5), KYSM (103.5 FM), WCCO (830 AM), KTOE (1420 AM)

PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE OFFICE TO SEE IF SCHOOL IS CANCELLED OR RELEASING EARLY. Our school phone lines tie up quickly when an early closing is announced so be sure you have your Snow Emergency Form current as we will follow the directions you have given us on that sheet.

District text messages with reminders and announcements. You can receive text messages to remind you about things such as two-hour late starts and inform you of weather related changes. Subscribe using this link.

Please remember that ACES, our after school childcare program, does not operate when we close due to inclement weather.

* When the weather causes school to start two hours late, breakfast will not be served.

Big image

What is pictured above?

That's our overflowing Lost & Found. There are about 100 items in the Lost & Found so the chances are about 1 in 4* that your child has something in there. Please stop in and check it out to see if you can claim anything.

* Not a scientifically verified fact, but it is a fact that we have a lot of lost stuff.

Stop in before, during or after conferences to locate your child's lost items. After conferences, we'll be donating these to charity.

What's a SMART room?

A SMART room is a room designed with 9 stations where students use movement to practice their academic skills (reading and math) to increase brain development. The program is researched-based and teachers are trained in how to incorporate the correct activities. The stations focus on fine motor, large motor, body coordination, strength, focusing and eye tracking. Students stay at one station for about one minute and 30 seconds and on a signal rotate to the next station. The S.M.A.R.T routine takes 15-20 minutes a day. Through student participation in the activities, confidence and determination increase. If you have any questions about SMART, please contact Mrs. Weber at or Mrs. Yungerberg at We are so excited to have a SMART room at Franklin School.
