The Head's Herald

Summer 2019

St. Joe's is One of a Kind!

Saint Joseph’s is a special place. We prepare students for life beyond our campus. We nurture them as they grow. We are there for our students and families during times of trouble and celebration. We're a family.

Most of our family has been together for quite some time! We have faculty/staff members who have worked here for many, many years--which says a lot about their love and dedication for St. Joe's. I, for example, began working here right out of college—as a substitute teacher in First Grade and in Third Grade—and am now beginning my twelfth year. Time flies when you’re having fun! (Congratulate and thank Mrs. Nevad, Mrs. Williams, and Mrs. Aperavich on 30+ years, Mrs. Michaelson on 25+ years, and Mrs. Arts, Miss Abby, and Mrs. Schafer on 20+ years the next time you see them.) We are blessed to have such wonderfully gifted and invested faculty/staff members at our school.

Not only have faculty/staff members been here for years, but so have many families! We call these families “Lifers”… In fact, student Lifers receive a special gift during Eighth Grade Graduation—something to remember their home away from home. Just last year, seven students graduated after an 11-year journey at St. Joe's. That's quite an accomplishment! And, it's a rewarding experience to watch students grow from tiny but mighty ECA students to young adults in Middle School.

Summer always causes me to reflect on what we have at St. Joe's--dedicated faculty/staff, loving and long-term families, respectful and prepared students, beautiful campuses, and so much more. God has blessed us beyond belief, and I am eternally grateful to spend my days, weeks, months, and years at this amazing place. Thank you for being here!

See you all soon!
