Sycamore Junior High Family Communication
April 21, 2023
Sycamore Families,
We had beautiful weather this week and we hope you all enjoyed your days! We had a lot of fun proving our knowledge in Math on the State Test, flamingo finding for an upcoming staff treat & dancing in the halls for dance party Friday! Sycamore was named a Best Place for Music Education & many many many of our students also earned top awards during the OMEA District Competition. It was a great week!
Next Tuesday 4/25, we will have our final state test in 8th grade Science. (7th Graders will not test) Due to limited space in the building and the need to keep a quiet testing environment we will be holding all 7th grade students in their 1st period from 7:57-11:05. This will be a quiet study hall environment. Students will be able to utilize the time to get caught up on assignments, silently read, sketch/draw, or just take time to slow down (that's important too!). If your child needs to attend late or be released early due to an appointment that day, please refer to the schedule below.
We hope you all have an wonderful weekend. Be safe, eat your veggies, wear your seatbelts, hug someone you love! See you on Monday. We are so excited to have you back!

April 29--Junior High: Final Takeoff
Sycamore Named a Best Community for Music Education
To qualify for the Best Communities designation, Sycamore answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and community music-making programs. Responses were verified by school officials and reviewed by The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.

Parents:
If your family is moving or your child is transferring to a private school, please complete a student withdrawal form. Click on the following link for this form. Sycamore Student Withdrawal Form. The Ohio Department of Education requires a signed withdrawal form from a parent/guardian that includes the last date of attendance and the name of the new district/school. Also, the new school must send a records request with your child’s start date. Please email or drop off this form to Ms. Manning in the Counseling Office before May 18, 2023.
