What is the holocaust?
In 1933 the Jewish population of Europe at the time went over nine million. Most European Jews were in countries that Nazi Germany was invading during World War II. By 1945, the Germans killed nearly three quarters of European Jews as part of the “final solution”, the Nazi’s strategy to murder the Jews of Europe. Although Jews, whom the Nazis believed a main concern danger to Germany, were the primary victims of Nazi racism, other victims included some 200,000 emotionally or physically disabled patients, mainly Germans living in institutional surroundings, were murdered in the so called Euthanasia program. The Holocaust lasted for 12 years, until 1945.

What was the reason for the Holocaust to start?
The Holocaust didn't happen unexpectedly, it was the end of a time-consuming process of anti- Semitism. The Nazis had come to power in 1933, and used propaganda and fright to impose their anti-Semitic policies. Laws were agreed by the Nazis called the Nuremberg Laws. They took away all the human rights of Jews.

The holocaust ended in particular places when the Allies enlightened the camps in 1944-1945. The official end to the holocaust did not come until the end of WWII and all German troops surrendered.
The Holocaust is a black mark on 20th century history that many people want to not remember. However, it is essential to remember this event and what it stood for so that it doesn't happen again in the future. In 1933, when Adolf Hitler became in power, he began to realize simple inequity laws against Jews and others who were 'less than' in order to make his Master Race and bring back the Germans to power, which he assumed was being taken by the Jews. He was able to influence his followers of this matter with the Jewish Question, as it was acknowledged, and get away with killing millions of people in an effort to purify the public of anyone lower to the Master Race.
