Spring Break, April 11th-15th

Best wishes for a safe and enjoyable break to our students, staff, and families! After spending time with extended family and friends please remain as diligent as you have been in screening for Covid symptoms and keep children who are symptomatic or awaiting test results home. This simple measure has proven to be effective in controlling the spread in our schools.

Executive Deputy Secretary Dr. Debora Carrera visits Chestnutwold Elementary School

"The district is excited to share our focus on the needs of each student through a multi-tiered system of support. ARP ESSER funding is allowing us the opportunity to provide training as well as staff to implement our strategic plan which bolsters the success of our students," said Superintendent Dr. Maureen Reusche. See the full press release here.

Feeding School Kids Program

Through the new Feeding School Kids initiative, the School District of Haverford Township was awarded $19,855 from the Giant Company.

Whether rounding up their grocery purchase to the nearest dollar or converting their Choice points into a donation, our community came together to support the kids. The Giant Company was proud to match the first $250K donated by customers. The Giant Company and its customers have raised more than $1.4M to address the issue of childhood hunger throughout local public school districts in the communities they serve.

High School Renovations Project

Things are moving along well on the music wing addition project at the high school. Since work began in late 2021, a lot of progress has been made. The structural steel and roof decking is complete and the interior slab on grade has been poured. The exterior wall steel stud framing is nearly complete and they have started sheathing the walls. Inside the building, the interior walls have been framed and the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractors have a lot of their infrastructure roughed in. Over the next few months, the exterior envelope will be made watertight including having the roof installed and drywall work will begin. Right before the end of school, the interior renovation work will begin and the fit-out of the space will be done over the summer. In addition, the parking lot work will be done over the summer as well.
