LEE CELEBRATES NEW BAND HALL

Gainesville ISD, EIKON Consulting Group, and WR Construction celebrated the opening of the new Robert E. Lee Intermediate Band Hall. The ribbon cutting and open house was held on Monday, August 14 at 5pm.

The 5,000 square foot band hall addition will meet the needs of the growing music program at Robert E. Lee and Gainesville ISD. The design of the band hall includes an open ensemble area with movable partitions that can divide the space into three smaller rooms. An ample amount of instrument storage has also been provided in the new facility as well as an office with instrument repair space and restrooms.

A special thank you to the Board of Trustees who initiated this project: Will Presson, Mike Schmitz, Mike Rosenberg, Doug Wade, Corey Hardin, Ryan Green, Phil Neelley.

PROJECT LEAD THE WAY

During staff development, teachers throughout the district were trained on the implementation of Project Lead the Way instruction. To develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for immediate and future success for all students, GISD is implementing PLTW at all grade levels beginning this school year. PLTW gives our students and staff the ability to fully integrate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) instruction in the classrooms at every level.
