Save Brushy Creek
By: Keerthana
How Bad Is It ?
People need more transmission towers because there are more people moving in. One of the paths will be through Brushy Creek. There will be 11 towers. Each tower will be 140 ft. That's 23 average males (1 average male is 6 feet) plus a 2 foot toddler stacked on top of each other. LCRA will need to cut down 2.5 miles of Brushy Creek Trail. They will need to chop down all vegetation between 100 ft on both sides of the towers. That's 60 school desks wide. Now you decide how bad it is.
Habitats
If LCRA destroys Brushy Creek, some habitats will be destroyed too.
Trees
A lot of trees will get chopped down.
Destruction
If LCRA destroys Brushy Creek, a lot of the trail will be destroyed
How Can You Help ?
Write Letters
You can e-mail letters to: donna.nelson@PUC.texas.gov, timothy.timmerman@lcra.org, ceo@peci.com. With all these letters, LCRA might use a different route.
