Cultural Notes Chapter 2

Notes!
- It is customary to bring a gift if you are a guest at a meal in a French home. Candy or flowers are usually acceptable (don't bring chrysanthemums though, they're associated with death). In conversation, avoid asking about age, profession, salary, or political affiliation.
- Some French Rooms don't have closets! Toilets are also in a different room than the bathroom.
- When you compliment somebodies houses or possessions, the responses will be the same as if you compliment their clothes or appearance.
- Notre Dame was built in the 13th Century.
