Earth Day & Author Celebrations

Growing in the Garden

Thank you to our visiting author Mrs. Dianne Giehtbrock.

Mrs. Giehtbrock shared her journey as a young author with a goal to publish a children's book. She encouraged our students to dream big and to go after their goals. She shared some of her inspirations for writing and challenged our student body to do some planting of our own.

Check out the 'bean tepee' that has been constructed in our courtyard. Our students are excited to watch it grow.

Empty Bowls & K-12 Art Show

Thank you to our district art educators & our own Alison Marchbanks. With the help of our Holly students, families, staff, administrators and community members we raised over $2500 for Blessings in a Backpack Holly with our Empty Bowls Campaign! Thank you for supporting our efforts and our artists.

Many thanks to the following groups and businesses for their donations that made this event possible:

2016-2017 Placement Procedure

Dear Parents-

Considerable work is done to ensure the proper placement of each student from one grade level to the next. The process begins in the spring with input from teaching staff and parents. The information gathering process is detailed and includes many factors. The end goal is to create groupings that afford successful classroom experiences for every child at Davisburg Elementary.

If you would like to provide input into our placement process, please share your child’s strengths (academic, social, and emotional) and any areas of concern you may have. Describe the environment or learning atmosphere that you feel best fits your child. Requests that name a certain teacher cannot be considered.

Parental input may be submitted during the planning and information gathering period and must be submitted in writing to Mrs. Hempton by Wednesday, May 11th. Please send input directly to our office, rather than to your child’s teacher.

Our placement process begins in the spring and is not finalized until late summer. Letters will make notifications of student classroom placement in late August.

Please contact me directly with any questions that you might have.

Mrs. Kimberly Hempton
