This Is How We Lakeview
October Edition - Volume 4
Masks and Cell Phones
As the school year progresses, we have started seeing more students who are not properly wearing their masks in the hallways or at their desks. Please remind your student that masks are to be worn at all times in the building, except when eating or drinking. They need to have their mask covering their mouth and nose. We are seeing a lot of students not having it over their nose (I have helped several students adjust their nose piece so that it fits better). Every staff member has been given masks for the students so if theirs breaks or gets soiled during the day, they just need to ask and we will give them a replacement.
If you need to check your student out for an appointment, please call ahead so that we can have your student ready to go when you arrive. Along those lines, students are not allowed to have their cell phones on during the day. Per board policy, phones are to be off and away during the school day in grade K-8 (we remind them of this every morning on the announcements). If you need to get ahold of your student, please call the office and we can get a message to them.
Remember to double check with your student that they are checking in for attendance on their virtual days and to check the Classroom Information Page (linked at the bottom of this newsletter) so that you know what they have coming up. There is also still time to schedule Parent/teacher conferences for November 3rd.

CHANGE to positive COVID-19 procedures
We have 1 change to the procedure that we originally shared with the Lakeview families, see the underlined/bolded portion below.
- A letter is sent to the entire building (both cohorts) stating there is a confirmed case
- A classroom letter is sent to any person who is in class with the individual
- The district office calls and emails anyone who is considered to be in close contact with the individual with specific instructions on next steps. The county health department may also follow up with these individuals
Families who do not receive a personal phone call are deemed to not be at risk based on contact tracing guidelines for the case in question
