Out with the Old, In with the New
John Adams Must Go
The Federalists Have Outlived their Reign
The Federalists have set in place a government where the wealthy rule while the commoners sit back and watch. As we've seen with Shays Rebellion, when the lower class is ignored uprisings are inevitable. With the Anti-Federalists in office, the poor would have a voice in our government. No longer would their requests go unnoticed but they would resound throughout the halls of Congress.
No One Wants a Thief for a President
John Adams stole our freedoms when he signed the Alien and Sedition Acts in 1798. These acts stated that it is illegal to print, speak, or produce anything controversial towards the government. These laws also make it difficult for immigrants to gain citizenship to America. This law takes away the freedom of the press and the freedom of speech. It is as if a choke chain has been tightened around our throats so that nothing can come out except for the squeal of submission.
Strong Governments come with Strong Taxes
Having a strong central government leads to the creation of an increased amount of taxes. If our government was based on strong states than taxes would be distributed as the states see fit. Individuals would not have to be subjected to generalized taxes that may not effect their life at all. Many people at this time were poor farmers who could not afford taxes.
