"The essence of health is an inner kind of balance." - Dr. Andrew Weil
With Appreciation:
- Thanks to the staff for taking time to honor our custodial team and our admin team with the delicious cake and the thoughtful cards. We appreciate you and enjoy serving our site!
- Kudos to Annie and our prep team for ironing out our Extra Early Release prep schedule - can you believe it's this time of the year already!?!?
- We appreciate Kristen's work to get the conference scheduler ready to roll out!
- Big thanks to Rob and Arty for their extra hard work on Friday setting up/tearing down from our Carnoween!
Red Ribbon Week - Celebrating Healthy Choices & Saying NO to Drugs!
- Monday: "Sock it to Drugs" (crazy socks)
- Tuesday: "Too Bright for Drugs" (neon/sunglasses)
- Wednesday: "Say Boo to Drugs" (Halloween costumes or spirited items)
- Note - children MUST be able to use the restroom independently if they come in costume
- No weapons, no masks, nothing that might be scary for younger kiddos (remember we have a TK!)
- We asked families to send their child in spirited items and save the costume for the evening!
- Thursday: "Give Drugs the Boot" (country western day)
- Friday: "Put a Stop to Drugs" (wear red)
Hydroflask Challenge:
The Wellness Committee is offering a Hydroflask Challenge...Krystal will be looking for staff who are "getting stronger" around campus and rewarding them with a "golden ticket." Take a walk during a break, taking brain breaks during class, participating in PE with your students, etc... One lucky winner will be selected on Tues., 11/6.
Morning Stretch:
Each morning in the announcements, we'll invite staff to lead their students in a quick morning stretch to start the day off right - consider a simple stretch or check out GoNoodle for lots of quick guided activities you could use! Every minutes = PE minutes!

PBIS Update
It's important that we fill out our PBIS forms completely. The most commonly missed boxes are minor/major, motivation, date & time. You'll be getting a minor/major resource in your box early this week that delineates what makes something minor vs. major. This resource is also available in our staff portal. Keep in mind that we agreed that multiple (3) minors of the same offense makes it a major.
We are coming up on our month end goal to reduce playground incidents and so far, the data is looking promising.
Below is our PBIS data for 10/1-28/18, the month of Sept 2018 and the month of Oct 2017.
