PK3.3 News
9th - 13th March
Hello PK3.3 Parents!
Phew, we have had such a busy week here in PK3.3!
On Monday, it was our turn to begin the week with Flag Ceremony, The children did a great job leading the signing and holding up the Panamanian flag and posters for our school song. Way to go PK3.3!!
We also began learning about Oceans and Ocean animals. With so much water around us in Panama the children already know lots about the ocean and the animals that live there. We have been having some great circle time discussions about sharks, dolphins, starfish and octopus' . We can't wait to find out more!
REMINDER: Show and Tell is a great opportunity to have children who have visited the ocean to share mementos from their trip. Please send your child with any photos, seashells, starfish, or other items you may have to share with their classmates. The children love to share their experiences aloud in class.
J is for Jellyfish
In Art we created our own Jellyfish. We gave our fine motor skills a great workout as we painted, ripped, cut and glued.
We have also been drawing our own ocean creatures and painting a HUGE dolphin to hang in our new "under the sea" submarine area.

Mystery Readers
A huge thank you to all our mystery readers. We really appreciate you making the time to come and share your children's favorite books with us.
This week we had the pleasure of Ignacio Morales' family coming in to share a super cool book from National Geographic all about Sharks! On Thursday Lowen's dad read us a cute story about a talkative chicken and her bedtime story "Interrupting Chicken" by David Ezra Stein and today Tania's mum read us a colorful book about a Princess Jewelry Box. Tania persuaded mum to read us a second book " Round like a ball" by Lisa Campbell Ernst. We were guessing all the way to the end what the "ball" could be. Shall I tell you? It was Earth!
We will continue celebrating literature throughout March . We have more mystery readers lined up over the coming week. If you have not already, I encourage you to come along and read a story. We just love our mystery readers!
And there was lots of this........
Important reminders and dates for your diary
A big thank you for all your donations of play dough and crayons for our sister school, Gabriel Lewis Galindo in Las Trancas. They were collected today and will be delivered to the school on Monday, March 16th, International Good Deed Day.
PTA Family Fun Fair - 21st March 9:00- 16:00: Be sure to join us for another fabulous fun day organized by our PTA. Further details to follow.
SNACKS: Recently we have had items such as coca-cola, lollipops and chocolate bars being sent for children's snacks. We request that children come with healthy snacks and drinks to encourage healthy eating habits. At this age our children develop very quickly and too much sugar affects their ability to concentrate. Healthy snacks can be small pieces of fruit, yoghurt, small sandwiches, cheese, etc, along with a water, juice or milk. Please do not send sodas, candy, chocolate, potato chips, unhealthy snacks. Thank you for your support.
PE is every FRIDAY - please send your children in wearing PE uniform and suitable footwear. Long hair should be tied back.
