The ACS Beginning Teacher Roundup
for November 2018
ASHEVILLE CITY SCHOOLS
We believe in the #THEACSWAY: We are 1 District, 1 Vision, 1 Voice!
Fall brings change . . .
By now, you have settled into a groove, you know your kids a little better, you survived Halloween and the day after, you are seeing gains in academic growth, and making plans on how to foster more growth. There is a lot to celebrate!
Fall is also a time of thanksgiving, and we find ourselves being encouraged to identify the things that we are thankful for in our lives. More often than not, we automatically turn to our family, friends, and those we love to give thanks.
During this season of thanks, I want to push you to reach beyond the aforementioned examples and look at each child in your classroom and identify at least one thing in each student that you are thankful for. We get so busy in our day to day lives that we forget to take the time to stop and share with the children we serve how thankful we are that they are in our class, or how insightful they are, or how dependable they are, etc. We all want to know that we are valued.
I want to take this opportunity to share how thankful I am for the opportunity to support all of you. I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving, and that you take some time to recharge you batteries and enjoy your loved ones. You have all worked hard, and a well deserved break is around the corner.
