It is time for prospective parents to visit Ridgeway! Tours begin next week, and the lottery is right around the corner this coming spring. Our Ridgeway families are one of the best ways to get the word out about Ridgeway. Each student has several postcards in their Friday Folder today. You will notice the card has a QR code that takes you right to information on our website about Ridgeway. Please share the card with families that have a student entering kindergarten next year. You can give them the actual card or take a photo of the card and text, email, and post on social media.
Sibling Kindergarten Registration
As we prepare for next year's Kindergarten class, it is time to let the Ridgeway office know if you have a younger sibling of a current or former Ridgeway student entering Kindergarten next year. In order to hold a spot for your child, please let the office know by completing this form https://forms.gle/7shJBqrVxFordGFN8 by Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
Once the form is filled out you will receive an email with more information about the 2022 Kindergarten registration process.

Second Steps
Being a calm, focused learner helps students complete tasks. Today, we focused on learning how to relax and use positive self-talk to stay focused. Key parts of today’s lessons are:
- Learning to relax calms you down.
- Using positive self-talk helps you manage emotions and stay focused and on task to be a better learner.
Families can practice at home by naming the physical signs of anger. For example, your face might feel hot, your heart may beat fast, and you might make a fist with your hands. Use steps to calm down (belly breathing and positive self-talk) to help your brain manage these physical signs.
