Should the government be able to search students bags?

My Side of School Searches
It would affect their learning, their job, and their future. All parents want their kids to have a good life and be successful. Let us all remind ourselves about how it is illegal to drink under the age of 21 and that drugs in all, are illegal. Would you want your teenage boy/girl in jail at the age of 14-18 (the recorded ages that this usually starts.)
That is why the government SHOULD search the bags of students. In my opinion there should be a limit of what they search. For example I think they should be able to search bags and lockers but then we go into the more private things. I think schools should not be able to search their phones there are way too many private things in phones such as texts, conversations, and pictures. All of these things can reveal a lot about someone. You may be asking what are some of the affects of drugs and alcohol? Well here are a few of the many things that could happen.
Alcohol: Alcohol poisoning, Liver disease, Nerve damage, Permanent damage to the brain , and Cancer of the mouth and throat
Drugs: Weaken the immune system, increasing susceptibility to infections, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
Remember that these are only a few of the many effects, side affects.
Interview With a Fellow Student
I have interviewed a Blake Mitchell for her opinion on school searches.
ME: So blake what is your opinion on school searches?
BLAKE: I think it would be wrong if the government didn't search the students bags and lockers because like you said teenagers are doing illegal things that can put them in danger and even jail.
