Weekly Report
Week Ending March 24, 2016
Highlights of the Week:
- The PTL held Cones with Keinath Wednesday afternoon. It gave our students a chance to let Mrs. Keinath know how grateful we are to had her with us. Students in grades 3-8 came up to the mic and expressed their personal gratitude. Mr. Mueller serenaded Mrs. Keinath with a re-mixed version of Stay by the Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs. Mrs Walter ended by playing a Barry Manilow song that ended with some tears.
- Watching the 7th grade dissect fetal pigs was great. It is always interesting to see the students reactions and interest in dissection.
- The 2-5-7 family group completed an in-reach project. Check your church mailbox for more details.
Problems of the Week:
- Finding personnel records information in the building. There is not a single point were everything is located. As a veteran who use to maintain personnel records for the Michigan National Guard as part of my job duties, the disorganization drove me nuts.
- Some students in 3rd grade were playing an inappropriate game called Charley Charley Pencil Challenge. It is a knockoff, homemade version of the Ouija board. Mrs. Singer immediately handled the situation and talked with some parents. Pastor Abetelli also spoke to the class about why this type of activity is not appropriate.
You Should be Aware of:
- We have a fingerprint audit next Tuesday morning by the Michigan Department of Justice. All non-criminal justice organization that are required to fingerprint employees will eventually go through this. Preparing for this audit pointed out that we do not have any written policies or procedures on how we handle this confidential information. This audit does not come with any sanctions, but we will probably get some suggestions on how to handle this process moving forward.
