5th Grade Celebration

On Thursday, June 17th our 5th graders were celebrated with a "clap-out" and then had the opportunity to sign yearbooks and celebrate their years at James Monroe together. Take a look at the highlight video for the special day!

Take a look at our Artist in Residency grant initiative with Young Audiences. 4th grade students participated in an art residency where they created a beautiful mosaic mural for our community garden. Check out the video to learn more about it!

There are several ways to get involved this summer with exciting reading programs.

Edison Public Library’s Tails and Tales: Summer Reading Club

The Edison Public Library is an excellent place to pick up some of the above recommended books and participate in several activities. The library will be sponsoring Tails and Tales: Summer Reading Club. In addition, they are offering other programs and incentives for students to read all summer long. You may register online or in person. Check it out!

Edison Schools’ Reading Bingo

Bring your summer reading fun to the next level by participating in Edison Schools’ Reading Bingo. Can you complete tasks across an entire row or up and down a column? Can you challenge yourself to complete all the activities on the board? Click on the link to join the fun!

Middle School Summer Literacy Challenge

Attention current James Monroe 5th graders who are rising Herbert Hoover 6th graders. There is a middle school literacy challenge for students who will be entering middle school in September. Make a great first impression and prepare for middle school by participating in the awesome reading activities they have planned for you.
