All about the Northern Flying Squirrel
The Northern Flying Squirrel, or the Glaucomys Sabrinus, can be found in northern hardwoods otherwise known as the Coastal or Piedmont regions. Due to recent human activities such as logging and subsequent fires, the flying squirrel has become in danger of extinction. Some people around North Carolina are doing many things to help save the flying squirrel. Some ways you can help is to make a squirrel box in your back yard to house the squirrels and volunteer at your local zoo to help out.
