November 18-22
Field Trip Information
- Our field trip is tomorrow, Monday, November 18. Your child should wear their OCT camo t-shirt, comfortable shoes, and a jacket if needed. Please send a completely disposable sack lunch with your child's name on it. Please do not send money with your child, we will not visit the gift shop. Chaperones, we kindly ask that you do not visit the gift shop with your students. Thank you!
- We will load the busses and leave OC Taylor at 9:00 am.
- We will arrive at the Perot Museum around 9:40. Please meet us in the open space in front of the museum. We will give chaperones their tickets at this time.
- Visit the exhibits with your group when the museum opens. Please keep eyes on your students at all times.
- Please make your way to the theater by 10:50 a.m. The short film, Volcanoes 3D, begins at 11:00 a.m.
- After the film, we will meet at the Plaza and give students their lunches. After groups finish their lunches please enjoy the exhibits.
- Please meet back at the front of the building, the same area where we arrived, by 1:00 p.m. We will load the busses and drive back to O.C. Taylor. We will be back on campus by 2:00 p.m.
- If you choose to sign your child out before the end of the day please note that it will be considered a partial day absence.
- If you have questions please don't hesitate to ask your child's teacher.
- We are looking forward to a great day!

- Dec. 13 Grand Slam with Grand Friends (Wear a holiday shirt.)
- Dec. 16 Santa Hat Day (Wear a Santa hat or any hat. Santa is coming to OCT!)
- Dec. 17 Elfie Selfie by the Fireplace (Dress like an elf or wear cozy socks.)
- Dec. 18 Ugly Sweater Day (Wear a sweater or holiday shirt.)
- Dec. 19 Polar Express Day (Wear pajamas.)
- Dec. 20 Holiday Party Day (Wear festive party attire.)

Weekly Learning Objectives
Reading- As we read we will pay attention to details, ask questions, make predictions, and make connections to the story.
FunDations (phonics study)- We will learn about vowel teams ee, ea, ey, oi, and oy.
Please Remember- read with your child for 20 minutes each evening. Your child only needs one or two sticky notes per evening. Your child can write their thoughts, questions, or words they find interesting on their sticky notes. We are doing a great job with our reading with reading logs. Please remind your child to fill it in each evening and please initial it. Please help your child remember to place their folder with their reading log and book back in their backpack. Thanks!
Social Studies- We will learn about various group contributions to society and why they are important.
Writing- We will research and write about various group contributions to society and why they are important.
Science- We will learn about the basic needs of living things.
Math- We will review time and begin working on place value through the 999.
Quick Idea- Practice telling time with your child. Continue practicing those basic math facts.
