Summer Vacation is Near
May 7, 2019
Reminders
- Summer School Packets- DUE NOW
- Phone calls- Please limit your calls to the office during (8:30-9:30) and (3:00-4:30) unless you have an emergency. The office staff are very busy due to parents, visitors and the bus radio. Please be sure phone calls during the day are important to the needs of your class or student for that moment. All other questions, copy requests on the colored printer, etc. must wait until AFTER school.
- Playground Expectations- Be visible and walk around. The end of school is near and students are often forgetting what it means to be a GREAT citizen. Please make sure you are walking around the playground and not standing in one spot and talking with your team during recess. You are welcome to walk around the playground and talk, but not stand in one spot the entire time.
- Remediation- Third and 4th grade teachers, if you feel that other students would benefit from remediation before or after school, please let me know. We may have additional funds to support this effort.
- Parent Communication- Continue to communicate with parents concerning ANY student discipline or academic concerns. This may need to increase based on spring behavior. Be sure to log parent communication in Powerschool. It's difficult to discipline a student if the parent is not aware of ongoing issues.
- Awards- Please start working on your list of names for awards if you have not done so already. We will start creating awards within the next 2 weeks. All awards MUST be complete and printed by Thursday, 6/6. We will have spirit sticks for each award given.
- Award Ceremonies- Kindergarten and 4th grade teachers, please create a program to share with parents at the ceremony. The program must include all student names in the grade level.
- Hardy Houses- Third and 4th grade teachers, this information has to be discussed and complete prior to leaving for summer break. Please plan to meet on May
- Substitutes- Please use sparingly. Due to limited funds for subs, classes may be split to save cost if last minute leave requests are submitted. Special education inclusion teachers do not request a sub unless you will be absent for 2 or more consecutive days. Otherwise, general education and SPED IA's will provide services to these students.
