The Bluejay

September 2020

Hello from Mrs. Teague-

We are back in action after 5 long months! Things look and sound a little differently than they did last year, but everyone is adjusting to new classrooms, routines and protocols. I can't express how proud I am of our students, teachers and staff as we kicked off the new year. It has been so heartwarming to see those smiling little faces back in our building. We sure have missed them. We have felt the love and encouragement from parents and community members, and we are forever grateful to have you all cheering us (students and staff) along. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. As always, if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Did you know?

Did you know that all Bluejay families have free access to the district hot spot when they are logged in on a district issued device? Hot spots are available at the high school, elementary and middle school entrances. All you need to do is park in one of the parking spots, login on your district Chromebook or Ipad and you will be granted access.

SeeSaw & Google Classroom

We are using 2 main platforms this year for seated and distance learning. The first one is SeeSaw. This will primarily be used as a form of communication between home and school. You can utilize this the same way you utilize email to communicate privately with your teacher. Your teacher will also post student and class announcements here as well as establish a private student portfolio that only you and your approved users can see. If you have not received your student's class code, please reach out to your teacher.

Google Classroom will be utilized this year for distance learning. If you are a Bluejays @ Home student, you are probably already using this. If you are a seated student, you are encouraged to join your Google Classroom. In the event that your student is under quarantine or a temporary school closure, you will be able access distance learning materials through Google Classroom. If you have not received your Google Class code, please reach out to your teacher for you child's login information.

YMCA Childcare

The YMCA provides after school childcare Tuesday-Friday on site until 6:00 p.m. at Clever Elementary . In addition to after school care, the YMCA also offers full day childcare for school aged children at the Pat Jones Y facility on Mondays. They also have some part-time employment opportunities available for their childcare programs.

92 years ago was the last time a football season kicked off at Clever High School. We were excited to kick off this inaugural season of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS two weeks ago! We appreciate your continued cooperation and compliance with the Game Night protocols we have in place for health and safety reasons. We look forward to seeing the future of our football program sitting in the stands, cheering them on! Please see safety guidelines in the flyer below.
