Should there be laws against it?
Where did the word "bullying" come from?
There has always been bickering and fighting amongst others but in 1693 they would start to use the term "bullying". Then, bully meant blustering gallant
Who says what?
Dr.Evelyn Field says "it has not made a dent anywhere". Other experts say that by empowering the bystander to stand up might be the key.
Why should it be stopped now?
Bullying has got to the point where too many people are running away and not taking a stand, or talking about it.
Bullying has grown too many numbers of victims over the years
- 30% of students are bullies or victims of bullying.
- about 160,00 kids stay home from the fear of bullying
- 1 in 4 teachers don't have a problem with bullying and 4% will only step in to do something
- 14% out of 77% of kids being bullied act in self-harm.
- Suicide is the leading cause of death of children under the age of 14
- 75% of school shootings have been connected to bullying
Bullying has grown too many numbers of victims over the years
- In 2005, 270 kids committed suicide from the age group 10-14
- Over 3.2 million kids are victims of bullying a year
- 86% kids say that being bullied or made fun of leads to lethal teenage violence.
