We are excited to have use of both cafeterias! Primary students began using the cafeteria on May 2nd, with one class per block. As of May 16th, two classes per block will use the cafeteria. As of May 2nd, students in the middle grade have transitioned into the cafeteria with two classes per block.
There are many local resources and opportunities for children this summer!
1. Food for Kids: The Program Coordinator reached out with the following information - We will begin preparing bagged lunches, distributed by the Greenwich Summer Youth program at St. Joseph's Hall on Monday, June 27th. Participation in the Youth Program is not necessary to access the lunch but please contact Maud Maynard at 518-692-8139 to be included in the daily count.

3. Backpack Program: This year-round program is delivered weekly. Sign-up con occur at any time! Please reach out to Mrs. Katelynn O'Connor to sign up your children to receive a backpack full of food for the weekend. Her email is firstname.lastname@example.org

With a combined 75 years of service at Greenwich Elementary School, it is time to say goodbye and Happy Retirement to a few staff members in June: Mrs. Barnes, Mrs. Moore, and Mrs. Wallner. In addition, long-time custodian and crossing guard, Bill Wilson, also plans to retire!

Memorial Day and End of the Year
During the 2021-2022 school year the Greenwich Central School District utilized one Emergency Closing day. Therefore, the school district will be closed on Friday, May 27, 2022.
Greenwich Elementary students will attend classes on the following schedule:

If school must be closed, delayed in opening, or dismissed early due to inclement weather or other unpredictable problems, an announcement will be made as soon as possible after 6:30 AM on the official stations, radio station WGY and television station WRGB. Additionally, School Messenger will call each family to advise of school closings, delays and early dismissals.
PLEASE DISCUSS WITH YOUR CHILDREN EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE
SUPPOSED TO DO IN THE EVENT OF UNPLANNED DISMISSAL
If your child has a change in his/her dismissal plans, please send in a note with your child’s name, teacher’s name, what his/her dismissal plans are including the name and address of where your child is going and the date.
