Ramon learned that it is okay not to be PERFECT. He learned to TRY and to use his imagination to creates "-ish" drawings.
Your challenge is to make your own "-ish drawings". Your drawings don’t need to be perfect- remember they are “ish-like".
Make your drawings on any kind of paper torn or cut into pieces, white glue watered down and something to brush the glue with (like a paint brush, cotton swab, or piece of cotton. You may embellish it with any media (pen, crayon, marker, paint, etc.) Be sure to label your picture ( ____-ish (like fish-ish)
ASK: What _ish picture can I make that I can write about?
IMAGINE: Collect ideas and choose the best one.
PLAN: Make sketches (drafts) and decide on the materials you will need.
CREATE: Make your -ish drawing. Remember, it does not need to be perfect. It is an -ish drawing.
IMPROVE: You only need this step if your -ish picture needs to be modified in some way.
COMMUNICATE: Bring your "-ish picture" and the written portion of the project. The projects will be videoed and displayed in the library.
The Engineering Process (Ask, Imagine, Plan, Create, Improve, and Communicate ) and the Writing Process ( Brainstorm, Draft, Revise, Edit, Final Draft and Publish ) are similar. Brainstorm means you come up with many ideas and then choose one. Draft means a first attempt at whatever you are doing. Revise is improving your draft. Edit means to check your work for errors. Final draft is the finished product and to publish is to communicate---let others see your finished product
Do your -ish drawings remind you of an author?
