CONTACT TRACING HSE
Schools will immediately contact Fishers Health Department and/or Hamilton County Health Department upon learning of a positive COVID case among student body or staff. The Indiana State Department of Health will lead contact tracing and case investigation in consultation with FHD. As of Feb. 17, general notification of COVID-related cases in schools via Skylert will cease. Families will only be notified if their student(s) are a close contact. This change in practice is to reduce confusion. All COVID-related cases among students and staff can be found on the COVID19 Data Dashboard and is updated on Monday mornings. The dashboard was created to provide transparency about what is happening in the school corporation.
Dear HPE Families,
This year our library will be hosting an on-site Follett Book Fair along with an online companion fair. Here are three ways you can participate!
Shop Online
February 19-March 5
Perfect if you can’t shop our fair in person or have non-local family that would like to participate. In addition to the same great books at our fair, you will find an expanded catalog to shop online.
Code: M47K2
Follett will ship your books to the school after our fair is complete.
Shop Our Fair
March 1 - 4
Each class will stop by at the beginning of the fair for a preview on February 24 or 25. Then, students will visit the book fair at a prescheduled day/time (see below) with their class to have the opportunity to shop. Parents and visitors will not be able to attend the in person book fair this year due to the need to social distance and maintain cohorts. If you miss your scheduled time, then you may shop online at the site listed above.
Follett gift cards are available to purchase to use at our on-site event.
Visit www.follettbookfairs.com/gift-cards/ to purchase.
Sponsor a Student
Sponsor student participation at the book fair. Depending on your budget, provide multiple gift cards for students who would not be able to purchase something from the fair. You can sponsor a child by purchasing a Follett Book Fair gift card is easy, just go to https://www.giftfly.com/shop/follett-book-fairs, then choose your design and denomination. You can send them directly to our librarian at kmorgan@hse.k12.in.us. These cards will be distributed to teachers to give students in need.
No matter how you choose to shop, all purchases benefit our school library!
Counselor's Corner
Dear HPE Families,
As required by the Indiana Department of Education and Senate Enrolled Act (SEA) 355, Hamilton Southeastern Schools will be providing Body Safety education to our students again this year. These lessons will be provided by the Indiana Center for Prevention of Youth Abuse (ICPYA). All students at HPE (K-4) will receive age-appropriate lessons during the week of March 1st-5th. This was rescheduled from our previous date in December.
Prior to your child participating in this program, we are providing you information regarding the specific content of the lesson. You can view this grade level specific information on the ICPYA created site at: https://www.indianaprevention.org/parentresources

An Important Technology Note
HPE Library Curbside
Do you need more books to read and enjoy at home? Virtual learners can use HSE Curbside service to borrow books from the library.
All students will be able to place up to 4 books on hold weekly. Our new pick up hours are going to be Monday- Friday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
There will be a book cart in the front vestibule. The curbside pick up book cart is organized alphabetically by last name. All book stacks will have a name tag to help you easily locate your books.
You can just walk in, grab your book stack, and go. No need to sign in or check in with the office. There will also be a book bin for you to return materials as you finish with them.
Books will be ready for pick up the day after you place your holds. So if you place your holds on Monday, they will be ready for pick up by 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Books will have a two week loan period.

Easy Ways to Help the PTO
Cut your Box Tops for Education and send them to school with your student at any time. Visit www.boxtops4education.com for a list of products.
If you shop on Amazon or at Kroger, check out these completely free and zero effort ways to raise money for the HPE PTO. The prices are the same, the service is the same, you shop the same way, but a portion of the purchase price will be donated to the PTO, that’s it!
On Amazon, just go to smile.amazon.com/ch/20-0114174 to link your account to the PTO and then check out using smile.amazon.com everytime--you cannot access this through an app so fill up your cart and then open a browser to check out or shop directly on smile.amazon.com.
For Kroger, login to your online account or create one using the Kroger Plus Card number you already have or get a new one. Then go to www.kroger.com/communityrewards and enroll in Community Rewards. Search for “VA241” and select “HARRISON PARKWAY ELEMENTARY - PTO.” Then scan your Kroger Plus Card or enter your alternate ID every time you check out just like you always have.
