Message from the Principal:

Wow, what a rainy few days here at Settler's Point! With two weeks until Spring Break, we are making a concentrated effort to finish the quarter on a strong note.

Our first through sixth grade teachers will all be out for a half day training at some point next week as we bring in a district math specialist for training. The focus of this training will be how to solve word problems by drawing pictures. This is an exciting training as we continue to learn how to provide students with a better conceptual understanding of math concepts by having them experience mathematics in concrete, tangible ways.

Additionally, our annual PTSO Apex event has started. This year instead of a "fun run" we will be having a Remix event. At this event (February 28) students will participate in a number of fitness activities in a "dance party" setting. Students will be seeking pledges for each fitness move that they are able to complete.

Lastly, if you drive by the front of our school, you'll notice a new brown pole. This is the start of the installation of our new electronic marquee (finally). Installation has started, and is scheduled for Monday, February 25. We are beyond excited to have this new feature to better inform families about what's going on around campus, as well as, enhance our first impression.

As always, I feel that it's my job to serve the community at Settler's Point, so if there is ever anything I can do to help, please feel free to contact me.

News from the PTSO:

Settler's Point PTSO is excited to host the very first APEX Remix dance off. Instead of a Fun Run, students will complete various fitness moves in a glow party atmosphere. All of the money raised will be used to pay for special reading and math programs, supplemental curriculum, and organizational tools for teacher curriculum.

Thank you in advance for supporting Settler's Point!
