Stay Informed!
The School City of Hobart uses Remind to communicate with families via text messages and/or phone calls.
What are some ways that we use Remind?
- District News- Weekly newsletter, emergency closings, and other important information
- Class Reminders from Teachers - Events, tests, homework, due dates
- Announcements and Celebrations
- One-on-One Help
If you have not been receiving our messages and would like to, please reach out to your student's teacher for their Remind class code, which you will then text to 81010. For example, if you wanted to join a class with the class code @math, you would text @math to 81010.
Our Key Club Made History By Joining A Sister Club In Japan!
It is a historical moment and one that our Hobart High School Key Club has been working for! After much hard work, their goal is coming to fruition as the HHS Key Club and the Canadian Academy of Kobe Japan will join together as sister clubs. This makes them the FIRST Key Club in the United States to become a sister club with Japan! Their mission is to do joint service projects together, work on disaster relief together, and forge a deeper cultural awareness and understanding. This is incredible and we could not be more proud of our Brickies and their Club sponsor for making this a reality. We are excited to see what the future holds as these two clubs officially join together! Congrats, Bricks!
Joan Martin Student Council Raise Money For A HPD Yohan!
Last school year our Joan Martin Elementary Student Council wanted to raise monies to have "Murals by Pete" paint their Yohan to look like a Hobart Police Officer! Our SROs in the schools are more than HPD - they are mentors, teachers, role models, and advocates for our Brickies. This Yohan is one acknowledgement of the impact the School Resource Officers make in our schools. Outstanding job to the Joan Martin Student Council and thank you to our SROs for all they do.
French 3 & 4 Class Visit The Big City Of Chicago!
Last week our HHS French 3 & 4 class took a field trip to Chicago! It was a beautiful day full of great experiences and beautiful artwork that came in many forms. They visited several locations and embraced the culture that surrounded them at each location. They loved the adventure! #BrickieUp #BeExcellentOnPurpose
Brickies Being Acknowledged By Our Superintendent!
Liberty Brickie, Emmanuel, was acknowledged for his constant compassion and willingness to help others. He colors our schools with kindness!
Joan Martin Brickie, Owen, was acknowledged for not only being the first in his class to get 100 Dojo points, but for all choosing to save them up until his whole class can benefit from them! He is a hard worker and a giver!
Hobart High School Hall of Fame Inductees
At last Friday night's game, the Hobart Athletic Department and Hall of Fame Committee shared the privilege of inducting another memorable group into the HHS Hall of Fame ... the 1982 Class 3A State Runner-up football team!
The Brickies of '82 celebrated the 40th anniversary of their memorable run to the state finals and received recognition during a special halftime ceremony at Friday's varsity football game against Griffith. Members of one of Hobart's all-time best were on hand to take part in the festivities and to watch the present-day Brickies earn a hard-fought victory over the Panthers in an entertaining high school football game!
It is always a special occasion when we get the opportunity to welcome back Hobart's very best. We are forever grateful for the contributions they have made to this school city and the impact they made on this town! THANK YOU to all who came out to honor these fine individuals!!

Dyslexia Screener Information
Notification of Administration: Universal Dyslexia Screener
Dear Parent of Guardian,
Indiana Code 20-35.5 requires all Indiana schools to administer a universal screener for learning characteristics related to dyslexia within the first 90 days of school. Approved universal screeners and Level I/Level II diagnostic assessments for learning characteristics related to dyslexia are available on the IDOE website.
Dyslexia is a learning disorder that involves difficulty reading due to problems identifying speech sounds and learning how they relate to letters and words (decoding). Also called a reading disability, dyslexia affects areas of the brain that process language (Mayo Clinic, 2017). All students in kindergarten, grade one, and grade two will be given the screener within the first 90 days of school. Parents of students who are determined to be “at risk” or “at some risk” for learning characteristics related to dyslexia will be notified of screener results and be provided with the next steps of intervention. Parents will be asked for permission to administer Level I and Level II diagnostic assessments. Parents of students who are not at risk for characteristics of dyslexia will be notified of screener results and will resume regular educational programming. Please contact your student’s school with any questions or concerns regarding the universal dyslexia screener requirements. For more information, please reference the Indiana Department of Education’s Dyslexia webpage.
