Homework - January 11-15

Reading – at least 30 minutes nightly - initial in the box each day your child reads for at least 30 minutes. Also, remember to have them fillout their reading log for the Million Minutes.

Math – January Math Book - Days 7- 12 - please take time to go over the questions with your child. It is so important that they are completing the questions correctly.

Spelling - Study words and complete 2 spelling activities

High Frequency Words - practice reading the 1st and 2nd 100 Words and spelling the 3rd 25 of the 1st 100.

Fluency Passage - Read the fluency passage 3 times. Remember to read it once and then time for one minute. Practice passage and then read for a 2nd time for one minute. Practice passage and then read for the 3rd time for one minute. Your child should be reading close to 90 words a minute.

Rasor College Week

January 11-15, 2016

College Week will be celebrated in all schools across Plano ISD the week of January 11th. The premise of this week is to teach children that preparing for a higher education begins now. By learning to set goals and forming good study and work habits, we are preparing our students for future success. We will have activities throughout the week that emphasize doing your best in school, the importance of graduating high school, and post-secondary education options. Your participation is greatly appreciated.

So pull out your old college jerseys, hats, and t-shirts, and start talking to your children about the value of a higher education!

We would love for you to participate in the following theme days:

Monday, January 11th – Heading off to College!

Wear a College hat/cap

Tuesday, January 12th - My Future is Bright!

Wear bright/neon colors

Wednesday, January 13th – Dress for Success!

Dress your best (i.e. dress, suit, tie)

Thursday, January 14th – Homecoming Thursday!

Wear your favorite college t-shirt or colors.

Friday, January 15th – The Road to College Starts Here!

Read to ONE MILLION - Extended until after the Winter Break

This is the last week for us to reach our goal of One Million Minutes. Please remember to read each night and write down the time. We will collect the minutes on Thursday morning.
