NEW RIVER PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES
Our first conferences for the year will take place the week of October 3 - 7, 2022. We will have 1/2 day dismissal @ 12:05 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2022 and Friday, October 7, 2022 for conferences, conferences can also be scheduled throughout the week. Student lunches will be served an hour earlier on both days.
If you would like to help provide lunch for teachers, please see link below or click here.
Educational research indicates that the single most influential impact on a child’s ability to succeed in school is based on how much their PARENTS are involved and willing to assist at home! The home to school connection piece is so important.
Please be sure to communicate with your child’s teacher in a timely fashion to schedule your conference. We look forward to seeing you on campus during conference week!
New River PTSA provides lunch for teachers on Thursday, October 6, 2022. If you would like to help out with lunch, please take a moment to sign up here. Thank you so much!

ATTENDANCE-Please call in absences by 9 a.m. Thank you.
One of our goals is to encourage improved attendance and on time arrivals at New River Elementary School. We need your help in accomplishing this goal. You can assist by ensuring your child attends school on a regular basis and is ready for the bus on time each day. Each year our school board approves a school calendar (included in newsletter). We ask that you plan all vacations and special appointments around these calendars. Even though medical and dental appointments are excused absences, they should be scheduled after school hours or during recess times whenever possible. If your child is unable to attend school, please call and advise the school office of the reason for the absence by 9:00 a.m. at 623-376-3590. This is an automated voice mail system and will be available for your use 24 hours a day. An unreported absence will result in a phone call from the office to the parent at home or at work. If phone contact has not been made with the school, the parent should send a note to the teacher the morning the student returns to school. The note should contain the student’s name, date(s) of absence, specific reason for absence and the parent’s signature.
