World-renowned pianist Emanuel Ax

Emanuel Ax at SPPAC March 10th, 2016

World-renowned pianist, Emanuel Ax will perform with the Madison Symphony Orchestra on March 11, 12 and 13. Click here for more information about Mr. Ax and his concert with MSO.

During his time in Madison, he offered to visit a local school to talk with students and play for them. Thanks to Steve Sveum's connections with MSO (and the fact that we have a beautiful Steinway piano) the MSO asked if he could come to the Sun Prairie Performing Arts Center. Of course we said YES!

We are inviting music students to come and listen and learn:

Emanuel Ax Masterclass

Thursday March 10 at 10am

Sun Prairie Performing Arts Center

Because it is during the school day, students will need parent permission to leave class (and those in different buildings will need to arrange their own transportation.) However, this is a great opportunity to see one of the best pianists in the world, up close and in-person.

PMA is taking RSVP's for this event. Please email kengleson@prairiemusic.org if you and/or your student would like to attend. We would like to submit a PMA group RSVP on your behalf. Please RSVP by February 24th.

Mr. Ax will be performing with the Madison Symphony March 11-13th. The symphony offers a free open dress rehearsal for families interested in seeing the rehearsal process. Mr. Ax will be performing Beethoven's fourth piano concerto. You may reserve free tickets for yourself via the link above.

The piano faculty strongly encourages you attend this dress rehearsal or one of the formal symphony performances. It is a treat to have a multiple Grammy-winning pianist in our area for a few days - take advantage of top-notch performing!

Sincerely,
The PMA Piano Faculty
