A powerful tool to use to seek an understanding of others is the Courageous Conversation Compass from “Courageous Conversations about Race: A Field Guide for Achieving Equity in Schools” by Glenn E. Singleton and Curtis Linton.
The compass, can be used to identify how each of us enters the dialogue about race and how we process the content. Recognizing and considering where each of us joins the conversation can lead to a more open, more in-depth understanding. Where are you?
