Hey! This is Matt Scott - Principal @ East Limestone.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

  • The Book Fair will be set up in the library Monday, Dec. 5th- Friday, Dec. 9th!

  • Limestone County Schools will honor our Teacher of the Year and Support Staff Person of the Year tomorrow night at a Banquet. Mrs. Renea Clem, has been named our Teacher of the Year and Mrs. Cynthia Cleveland has been named our Support Staff Person of the Year. Join me in congratulating both of our staff members.

  • The East Toy drive has started. Several of our service organizations are teaming up this year to collect toys! We are encouraging every student to bring toys so this will be a campus wide event. Bring a toy to your first period class, Mrs. Priest, Mrs. Covin or Mrs. Sam.

  • Congratulations to our East Wrestling MS, JV and Varsity teams. We had several individual wins on Saturday at the Huntsville High tournament.

  • This is a reminder that good sportsmanship at athletic events is not only an expectation but also a requirement. Our games and competitions are family-friendly events between high school teams. Profane language, racial slurs, or harassment of the officials, players, coaches, or fellow fans will not be permitted and will result in immediate ejection of the fan from the campus for the current and future events without further warning.

  • On Tuesday, Dec 13 we will have our East Band Christmas Concert in the new gym @ 7:00 pm.

  • On Thursday Dec 15th, Limestone County Schools Superintendent, Dr. Randy Shearouse, will host a strategic planning meeting at East Limestone for East and Creekside parents and community at 7:00 pm in the Old Gym. More information @ LINK

  • Semester exams will be on Dec 14, 15, 16 and make-ups will be given the afternoon of the 16th

  • December 16th will be our last day before the Christmas Holiday break.


Just a reminder - parent notes and Dr notes are due upon return within 3 days of an absence. Please review our student handbook for our attendance policy for absences: LINK

Types of excused absences:

  • Sickness or hospitalization

  • Death in the family

  • Court appearance

  • Principal pre-approved absence

  • Religious holiday absence (pre-approved)

  • Emergency reasons - has to be Principal approved

**All other absences are considered unexcused.

Free & Reduced Lunch Application

Filling out the Free and Reduced Lunch Application just got easier! Simply scan the QR code on a mobile device to access the application or visit myschoolapps.com

As a reminder, beginning in August, paying student lunches will be $2.60. Anyone needing assistance paying must complete a Free and Reduced Lunch Application BEFORE classes resume August 8 in order to start the year on the Free and Reduced Lunch program. The reduced lunch price will be $.40. Breakfast will continue to be free for all students.

Before becoming Principal at East, I served as the Principal @ Creekside for 18 years. The 22-23 school year will be my 28th year in education overall.

I graduated in 1995 from The University of Alabama with my BS in Education.
