Hey this is Matt Scott, Principal @ East Limestone. I hope everyone had a nice weekend.
We only have 2 weeks of school left….I hope everyone has a great rest of the school year.
Happy Mother's Day to all of our East Limestone moms!
I am excited to announce that our East Limestone Fishing team are State Champs!! This weekend was the Alabama High School Bass Fishing ASABFA state fishing tournament on Lake Wheeler. We won the Large School division. Out of 209 boats EL had two boats finished in the top 5! Mason Martin / Grant Raney 4th and Carter Hollis and Lansden Cleesattle 5t. Congratulations to our East Limestone fishing team, our Coach, Michael Martin and all of our boat captains on being Alabama state champions!
I also wanted to announce our students who competed in the State Track meet in Gulf Shores this past weekend!
Boys 4x100 meter relay - 4th place (Xavier Edwards, Caleb Click, Jake Cochran, Simon Ngantio)
Girls 4x100 meter relay - 14th place (Xamaria Mosley, Awyanna Gideon, Janae Ngantio, Tori Shuler)
Xavier Edwards - 10th place 100m dash
Simon Ngantio - 22nd place 100m dash
Jake Cochran - 5th place 200m dash
Caleb Click - 10th place 200m dash
Great job to our student-athletes and to Coach Franks on a great season and great job at the state finals.
LC Career Tech awards night will be on Thursday, May 20th @ 6:00 pm at the Limestone County Courthouse Square.
Sr Exams will be on May 15, 16, 17 and 20.
Final exams for all other grades will be on May 21, 22, and 23.
Graduation will be on May 23 @ 7:00 at Cavnar Field.

May 17- Middle School/High School Awards day
6th Grade - 8:15 am
7th-8th Grades Combined - 9:45 am
9th-10th-11th Grades Combined - 1:00 pm
Girls Basketball tryouts: May 13-15 for grades 6th-11th. After school. Must have a physical form and pay a $10.00 insurance fee. See Coach Thompson for more information.
Boys Basketball Tryouts: will be May 21st and 22nd. Upcoming 9th - 12th graders will be 3:00-4:00 and upcoming 7th & 8th graders will be 4:00-5:00. Must have an up to date physical and $10 insurance fee. See Coach Moran if you have any questions.

Dress code reminders:
Students must be dressed appropriately.
Shorts, skirts and dresses too short in length are not allowed.
Leggings / yoga pants must be covered by garments that fall mid-thigh.
Pajamas, house shoes and blankets are not allowed.
Cell phone policy reminder - cell phones, headphones or smart watches are not allowed to be out during the school day. This includes breakfast and lunch.
Students who are crossing the road in the afternoons….please use the crosswalk and push the button on the traffic signal to alert oncoming traffic.

This is a reminder that good sportsmanship at athletic events is not only an expectation but also a requirement. Our games and competitions are family-friendly events between high school teams. Profane language, racial slurs, or harassment of the officials, players on either team, coaches, or fellow fans will not be permitted and will result in immediate ejection of the fan from the campus for the current and future events without further warning.

Free & Reduced Lunch Application
Filling out the Free and Reduced Lunch Application just got easier! Simply scan the QR code on a mobile device to access the application or visit myschoolapps.com
As a reminder, beginning in August, paying student lunches will be $2.60. Anyone needing assistance paying must complete a Free and Reduced Lunch Application BEFORE classes resume August 8 in order to start the year on the Free and Reduced Lunch program. The reduced lunch price will be $.40. Breakfast will continue to be free for all students.

Before becoming Principal at East, I served as the Principal @ Creekside for 18 years. The 23-24 school year will be my 29th year in education overall.
I graduated in 1995 from The University of Alabama with my BS in Education.
