DSIL Challenge #2
The Lean Canvas
About Challenge #2
At DSIL we jump at every opportunity to build community whenever, wherever, and however we can. This challenge will use the Lean Canvas Models to bring those elements together. After doing a quick practice of the Lean Canvas models that work for you and your current development path you will then jump on a virtual coffee with another participant to make sense of what you are learning and how tools like the Lean can be helpful in innovation!
Why:
Our team wants to create the space for you to focus on taking your current ideas, concepts or existing project/organization to the next iteration. We focus on lean model innovation as one aspect of this process.
How:
- Get Familiar with the 'canvas' model (note: there are many, we will use 'lean')
- Spend a quick 20 minutes giving the canvas a run through. Fail fast and get started. It's all learning!
Any of these 4 sites below will ground you in the fundamentals of one type of canvas model. This practice will also allow you to work with your own ideas or current organizations you are committed to making better.
Traditional Lean Business Canvas
Non-Profit Lean Business Canvas
You always have permission to make tools work for you. Feel free to create and take pieces from each canvas to create your own. Remember, only spend 20 minutes on your first try! Then talk about it on the virtual coffee with someone from the track to work out more in-depth iterations, or additions.
Notes
- Connect with as many people as you would like. If having three (or ten) people on a call makes more sense, go for it. This is your community!
Happy Connecting!
