HESTEC Field Trip for 6th-8th grade

Our 6th-8th grade students visited UTRGV for HESTEC. The Hispanic Engineering, Science, and Technology (HESTEC) Week is a nationally recognized model for promoting science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers to students of all ages. Now in its 17th year, the program has been recognized as a “Bright Spot in Hispanic Education” by the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics. In early October, thousands of middle and high school students, educators and parents will converge at UTRGV for a week of engaging presentations by world-renowned speakers, interactive educational exhibits, dynamic robotics competitions and much more.

Attendance

Our Campus attendance percentage was:

  • 97.37% for the week of 9/24-28/18
  • 94.61% for the week of 10/1-5/18

Encouraging regular school attendance is one of the most powerful ways you can prepare your child for success—both in school and in life. When you make school attendance a priority, you help your child get better grades, develop healthy life habits, avoid dangerous behavior and have a better chance of graduating from high school.

When kids are absent for an average of just two days of school per month—even when the absences are excused– it can have a negative impact. These absences can affect kids as early as Kindergarten.

Virtue of the Month: Integrity

Integrity is the virtue trait for the month of October. Vital to society and business, integrity prevents corruption. A person of integrity is not just a trustworthy friend, but a valuable employee and leader. Words, deeds and actions show whether someone is genuinely an individual of integrity.Read more at https://responsiveedreflections.com/portrait-integrity-2/

About Us

At Edinburg Classical Academy, our educational vision recognizes the value of each child as a person and each parent as their primary educator. While teaching virtuous conduct and offering a generous curriculum, we prioritize the value of respecting and building the child’s dignity as an individual while offering them an atmosphere which reflects truth, goodness, and beauty. Children have a natural appetite for knowledge, and we seek to offer sustenance for the child’s mind by creating a rich intellectual environment for students to develop connections between all subjects.
