Cougar Weekly Update

January 11 , 2018

Principal's Message

Our first full week back has been a great one. We worked on reestablishing routines. As we move into 2019 we will be further exploring what it means to be a digital citizen. A great resource for teachers and parents is www.commonsense.org. This website rates books, video games, movies, and TV shows for children of different ages. You can even personalize the website to be specific to your family. Www.commonsense.org is a good tool for parents and teachers to ensure appropriate media usage for all ages.

Sincerely,

Ann Gwynn

Principal

Box Tops for Education

Our school participates in the Box Tops For Education program. We earn money for redeeming the pink box tops located on items such as tissues, snacks, markers, and paper. In the past we have used these funds to purchase items for the general school population such as parachutes for PE and water/sand boxes for Science experiments. As you are organizing and storing your new school supplies, please take a few minutes to locate the box tops and just “rip them off” the packaging and then send them in to school.

Free and Reduced Meal Applications

Free and Reduced meals are available to qualifying families based on household income. Families must reapply every year in order to take advantage of this benefit.

The application is open and available for all families to see if they qualify. The paperwork needs to be completed in the first 30 days of school. After this time, if the paperwork is not completed, all meals charged to start the school year will be billed as full price. I encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible.
