Special Education

We are committed to supporting students and families with unique needs, including special education services. Students with disabilities will have additional options in alignment with the IEP Teams’ decisions. Special education teachers are reaching out to students and families to initiate conversations about instruction, services, and accommodations that can be safely delivered through a combination of connected learning and in-person support.

School-Based Health Clinic

The Peninsula Community Health Services school-based health clinic located at Mountain View Middle School will be open to provide medical and behavioral health services this school year. During the first week of school, the clinic will be open Wednesday, September 2 through Friday, September 4/ After Labor Day, the clinic will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. The clinic serves Bremerton School District students (preschool - 12th grade) and staff. Teacher websites

Every teacher in the Bremerton School District has a teacher website is unique and will provide contact information, calendars, and resources that can help keep families informed and students engaged in learning. Links to these sites can be found in two places:

  1. On your school's home page (click on "Staff Sites" in the dark blue menu bar)
  2. On the BSD Family Technology Support page

Google Classrooms

Our teachers are using a learning management system (LMS) called "Google Classroom" to communicate with students, post assignments, and track schoolwork.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Google Classrooms are DIFFERENT than a teacher's Google website. Teacher Google websites are public and accessible from the school's website. Think of the Google Classroom like a "real" classroom which is not open to the public during the school day.

While a parent can't join a Google Classroom due to privacy laws, Google allows parent/guardian email accounts to be "linked" to their student(s) BSD Google account which allows parents to get updates via email on how their student is doing in class.

  • If your student has more than one Google Classroom class, all information is combined in one email.

  • You can choose the frequency of those emails.

Once your email is connected with your student(s)’ Google Account, you should have access to any Google Classroom in which your student is enrolled - for this year and for future years. So if you do this now, you will automatically be connected to your child’s Google Classrooms next year - unless you change your email.

Your teacher will be sending you you an invitation to be linked to their Google Classroom. If you haven’t received that, we encourage you to reach out to your student’s teacher(s) and ask to be connected.
