Recognize--Acknowledge--Extend
Would you like to recognize a Benson Primary School employee for their efforts? We are so grateful for them. I'd like to recognize the efforts of our school community and encourage you to do the same. Please use this survey that will be available on all of our monthly newsletters to do so. Highlights monthly will be shared with the employee and with their permission--shared in the next month's newsletter.
Amy Reuter, Media Center Director Mrs. Reuter has inspired a love of learning and reading for thousands of children. She makes reading so much fun! Her favorites become every child's favorites just because she has read the book to the class and has brought it to life. My son thinks she is so funny!! Her love for teaching and for children shows in all that she does and we would like to thank her for her many years of service to the Benson community.

October 15, 2021(letter to families)
Dear District 10 Families:
I appreciate that you have continued to complete daily certification for your students. However, because case incidence has improved and you understand the daily certification criteria very well having done it for some time now, another option is available. In lieu of completing Daily Certification families may opt out by completing a one time Certification (see link below) for their student for the remainder of the school year. By doing so you are committing to conducting a daily symptom screening to determine if your child has any of the following COVID-19 symptoms:
Temperature of 100.4 or higher
NEW cough
Shortness of breath
Fatigue from an unknown cause
Muscle or body aches from an unknown cause
NEW onset of moderate to severe headache
NEW loss of taste or smell
Sore throat
Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Taking fever-reducing medications such as acetaminophen, ibuprofen, or aspirin
Had close contact with or cared for someone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days
Been directed to self-quarantine by a healthcare provider
Any other COVID-19 symptoms identified by the CDC or IDPH.
STUDENT DROP OFF & PICK UP: WE NEED YOUR HELP!
The information directly below is being printed and will be handed out to families as they drop off or pick up their students daily. We want to keep all of you safe and hope you can inform any of your family members (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) who may also help you drop off/pick up your students
-------------
**Parents: stay with your car and allow your student to walk up to their entry door independently--we promise they can do it!
**Please do not leave your car unattended in front of school during morning student drop off--parents stay with vehicles
**Please have your child exit your vehicle on the curbside, not the streetside.
**If you need to cross Washington Street please cross at our crosswalks east or west of school--we have supervisors to help
