(for Prospect's Administrative Board)
Reach 200 planning session moving to January 20th
Administrative Board Team...
We had planned for a “Reach 200” vision and brainstorming session this coming Saturday (January 11th) from 9:00-11:00. For a variety of reasons, we’re pushing this session back…
We plan to dedicate the entirety of our January 20th Administrative Board meeting to the topic of “pursuing numerical growth in worship, and in our ministries with children and youth.” (We see these as related topics.) We anticipate this meeting lasting 90+ minutes, so please prepare for a longer-than-normal time together. Once again, especially for those not at the December Admin Board meeting, we are not implying that there are problems with our worship, children’s, or youth ministries…we simply want to strategize for positive growth in each of these critical areas.
We hope you can all attend on the 20th...and want to invite other key voices from the congregation to join us. Our Admin Board meetings are open to all members...and this is one meeting that we would particularly welcome others to join the conversation. (Only "official" Admin Board members are able to vote on matters that come before the council.)
If you set aside Saturday morning for the Reach 200 meeting, you are more than welcome to join several of us at FUMC Peoria’s Loaves and Fish Ministry on Saturday (from 9:30-1:30). Due in large part to two Saturday funerals at FUMC Peoria and the fact that Bradley students won’t yet be back for the Spring semester, Loaves and Fish is looking at a major volunteer need this weekend. Contact Pastor Steve if you would like to be a part of the Prospect team at Loaves and Fish this Saturday. (The Pichaskes went last weekend, and it was a genuine highlight of our 12 Day of Christmas!)
Prospect is also hosting a blood drive on Saturday. Blood donation (and volunteer) opportunities are available from 9:00-10:30. Contact the church office if you would like to be added to the blood drive list.
Happy New Year, team. We hope your 2020 is off to a great start!
